Galveston, Texas 2006

I'm over a month behind in posting these. Honestly, I just haven't had the time to do it.  ...well, I'm making up for it today - posting pictures like a mad-man.   In this update - our family vacation to the stunning jewel off the Texas Coast, yes the sparlking beauty that is Galveston Island.  ...haha.

Growing up in Houston, I've been to Galveston a lot - from the early trips with my parents when I was a kid, to the times in high school and college where we went crusing down the beach. And now we return as parents, dragging our kids.  In fact, this is another 'full circle' in life, as one of the earlier trips to Galveston I can remember with my parents was when we took my friend Jay to the beach in our RV. ...and here we both return.

The view from our patio looking left....

...and the view looking right.

Look who's come out to see me.
Careful buddy, that's a long way down.

Austin loved being outside!

Claire and Rosieanne get ready...

Awwww, Lauren and Claire really did get along well on this trip.

There is a year difference between the girls, but gosh, my kid is tall.

...and I look tall too, fom down there.

Jay and Sherrie are dressed up for dinner.

We didn't get as dressed up, but still enjoyed a nice dinner at Joe's Crab Shack.
The food is average, but they have a playground for the kids - and the beers are cold.

Howdy!!

The next day...I think...

Jacqui and Austin play in the sand.

The massive sand castle/mud pit.

I think Christopher enjoyed the beach more than anyone.

The view from the beach back to our condo.

We are getting good at this sand castle thing.

We can almost swim in that one.

Ok, the water really is a gross brown, but after several beers and baking in the sun a while, it's not so bad.

R & R on the beach - awwwww yeah.

The kids play - and look - the Texans win a game! (ok, pre-season)

For our last night, we left the kids with Rosieanna, and had dinner at Gaido's.
It was awesome.
