Lauren's 5th Birthday

For some strange reason - it seems Lauren's 5th birthday was cursed.  Originally, we had planned to rent one of those 'bounce rooms'. You know - the inflatable moon jump, slide, etc.   Unfortunately, about a month before the big day - Lauren broke her ankle.  It was a small fracture, but big enough for a cast - so there would be no jumping for Lauren's birthday.  Plan 'B' was to have a pottery painting party.  What could go wrong with that?  Well, just 24 hours before the party - Lauren got sick.  In fact, she had such a high fever that there was just no way she could go to the party. To make matters even worse - it was too late to cancel.  So, Jacqui went to the party, while I stayed home with Lauren. She was pretty sad that she wasn't able to go to her own birthday party.  I was pretty sad too.  But, Lauren is such a trooper - Jacqui took lots of pictures so Lauren could see everyone. In the end, she had a happy birthday after all.
