Sedona, New Mexico 2025

Today is January 9, 2026. We all made it through the holidays and everyone is getting back to work. I will post all the Christmas pictures later, but for now, I'm still trying to catch up posting other stuff from 2025. For example, in early October Jacqui and her friends Kathy, Katherine, and Myrtle all took a vacation to Sedona, New Mexico.

Kathy, Myrtle, Jacqui and Katherine

It's been about three months since Jacqui took this trip. She really enjoyed it, and told me all the stories of their adventures at the Grand Canyon, and hiking to Cathedral Rock (spoiler alert - she didn't make it to the top). Anyway, since it's been a while, and I wasn't there....I'm not going to be able to reliably match these pictures to exactly what is what - so ...

It looks like the girls are out for a hike!

...after a long day on the trail

OK, I did some research and here we go. There were five main events. (1) The Grand Canyon, (2) Antelope Canyon, (3) Horseshoe Bend, (4) Cathedral Rock and (5) Hoover Dam. I've grouped those pictures - and the rest - well - they are where they are... LET'S GO!!!

The Grand Canyon, carved by the Colorado River as it runs through Arizona, is layered with bands of red rock revealing millions of years of geological history. Viewpoints include Mather Point, Yavapai Observation Station and architect Mary Colter’s Lookout Studio and her Desert View Watchtower. Lipan Point, with wide views of the canyon and Colorado River, is a popular, especially at sunrise and sunset. - Google

Antelope Canyon , is a world-famous slot canyon on Navajo land known for its stunning, flowing sandstone walls illuminated by sunlight, accessible only via guided tours.

Horseshoe Bend is an iconic overlook that features the Colorado River making a dramatic 270-degree horseshoe turn through a deep red-rock canyon, viewed from a stunning cliff-edge vantage point about 1,000 feet above the water.

Cathedral Rock is an iconic, picturesque sandstone formation famous for its stunning views, spiritual energy vortexes, and a challenging but rewarding hike that involves scrambling up steep, rocky terrain. The 1.2-mile out-and-back trail is rated difficult due to its steepness and requires good hiking shoes and plenty of water.

OK!!
While the girls were very busy, they seemed to always find time at the end of the day to relax.

It really is beautiful

Yes, I suspect there was a lot of 'relaxing' going on.
