Double B Ranch - 2025 - July through November
Here's pics and vids from another five months of ranch visits. Jacqui and I have been lucky enough to have the kids join us a few times. And with the weather being as nice as it has been, we enjoyed a lot of outside activities. Good old family fun. I'll start with a few pics from my trail cam and after that pics from our river trip down the Llano - setting up a new blind - clearing some views....and well.....just the usual stuff. It's pretty big update, so grab a cold one, sit back and enjoy.
Here's something
I don't see often - a big crane and a deer enjoy a drink together.
I've had my eye on this guy. A nice looking 9 point (or more?) with drop tine.
Note the date
Nothing special - I just thought the lighting was pretty
Turkey!
Yep - he's still around
Here he is in the day light
And look at this nice 10 point!
Hey big guy!
Another odd pairing of animals - pigs and crows
What is going on here?

Mr drop tine again, looks like he may have more points on his brow tine
OK - enough trail cam pics! Here are some pictures from when Austin was with us. He and my brother helped me set up my new two person "blind with a view".
That ain't going anywhere

Bill helps me tip it into position

Hard to see but we are using the wench on the Polaris to pull the stand into
place
My new favorite place at the ranch
"The View"
I put the new two person blind on one of the few 'high spots' on our property
with a view

My other favorite place at the ranch
Jacqui and I enjoy the dipping pool with Reese puppy
The deer are still in the felt stage
Nice young buck
After the July rains, the yard was overdue to be mowed
A picture never really does it justice
Also, notice the burn piles and cedar. I will clear that out and move the feeder
to the right of the tree in center frame
I got 'em, and he went that way
But those damn pigs are tough, and I never did find 'em
Reese!!!
Another sunset view from the new two person blind
Let's make some drinks and hang out at the dipping pool again!
We had so much fun our first time, we decided to kayak down the Llano river
again.
This time, it was Jacqui, Lauren and I with Bill, Ilonka, Trey, Blake, and also
Tim, Kathy and Grace
Hey Jacqui!
Y'all wait up!
Love your hat Bill!

Lauren soaks up the sun
It was a beautiful day
Why am I always last?
Later that night, we got all dressed up for the big event - the Junction, TX
Rodeo!

The prettiest cowgirls around

It really was a neat place for a rodeo, and I loved the small town charm

Lauren works from the ranch while Baily looks for deer
Some don't seem to mind me much when I'm refilling the feeders

Finally got around to borrowing this trencher attachment from my brother
I needed to bury the wires from the landscape lighting
Pretty handy - makes digging small trenches a breeze
A tiny picnic table?
No, I made a stand for the solar panels that power the waterfall
That's not a bad looking waterfall if I don't say so myself
A couple pictures from when I re-stained the front porch
Kayaking the Llano again??
Yes - this time it was just Jacqui, Lauren, Austin and myself.
Austin hadn't gone - so we talked him into it
Hello family!!!
Austin - my man!
Hello Beautiful!
Oh gosh - suck in!
Good times!
Again, I somehow get left behind...
Ah - hello Lauren
Relaxing at the dipping pool after a long day on the river
A very foggy morning
We met up with Tim and Kathy for a day out on Canyon Lake
Austin rode the tube!

And even this old man rode around a bit - wooohooo!

Back on the ranch, something always breaks.
As I was clearing, I hit a branch that separated this hydraulic hose
Yeah, that's not good
Doing some clearing to improve this view - removed the 1st burn pile in front
of those cedar.bushes
Now working to clear the second burn pile
Sometimes, you gotta show 'em who's the boss
This laptop decided to stop working for me
I showed him
And I showed these two pigs a thing or two also - heheheh
If the cedar. is small enough, you can rip it out without having to use a chainsaw
The second burn pile is gone
And here is where I'm dumping everything
YeeHaw!
Looking much better

A clean tractor
Now I've moved the feeder to a better spot
CLICK HERE to see Video #9 - the buck is nice, but the star of the show is the view
Reese loves going to the ranch
She pretty much hangs with me wherever we go
Deer at the feeder
I decided to sand and oil the old Cobb porch swing
Looks like I have a leak....darnit
A truck drove by, and the dust looked like fog
This guy came by just strolling along
Y'all come back now - ya hear!
