Lauren's 19th Birthday

Today is May 20th, 2020 - just over two months since Lauren's 19th birthday. When posting the kids birthday pics I usually find myself saying things like 'wow, time flies' - but never before have I seen so many things change in such a short period of time. Yes, it wasn't but a few days after these pics were taken when the whole Covid-19 crisis started to impact us. The ensuing lockdowns CRUSHED the economy. In my personal opinion, the lockdown, destruction of the economy and subsequent job loss, business failures and bankruptcies has been FAR WORSE than the impact from the virus itself. I will concede that we did need to 'flatten the curve' and allow our healthcare system to catch up so as to avoid being overwhelmed - but we are past that point now. Thankfully, Texas leads the nation in reopening and I've seen signs of things getting back to normal - but both my and Jacqui's jobs are in serious jeopardy.

Gosh, that's not a very Happy Birthday thing to say....so...let's forget about all that for a while and enjoy stepping back in time to celebrate Lauren's 19th birthday.

Not too long ago, Lauren was enjoying the college life at A&M
Thankfully, it appears colleges and schools in Texas will reopen for the fall semester.
