Spring Break 2016

Lauren's birthday is right around spring break, so I'm combining those pics. This was a big year for her - she got her learner's permit. She is LEGAL to drive the roads of Texas as long as there is a licensed driver in the car with her.

For Spring break this year, we took the kids down to Galveston. It was more 'historical' than 'beach'. As most of y'all reading this probably know, my grandfather rode out the Great Storm of 1900 in the Bolivar lighthouse. Jacqui and I figured we would tour around Galveston, see Bishop's Palace, head over to Bolivar, visit Pleasure pear - all the touristy stuff. It was fun.

We drove on the Bolivar beach - it was mostly empty.

...and of course we spent some time on The Strand.

It was a little cold, but the kids were determined to play on the beach.
